SMITH COUNTY — Smith County officials confirmed that a lightning strike caused an oil tank to ignite. According to KETK, the Overton Fire Department said that lightning hit the tank on CR 2142, causing a large blaze. Fire crews were moving people away from the scene over concerns that it might have exploded. Fire officials said the plan was to let the fire burn itself out.
