LONGVIEW – A man is in custody in Longview after a search warrant turned up drugs and stolen guns. Billie Kay Smith, 35, of Lancaster has been charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group one, possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and three counts of theft of a firearm. His bonds total $226,000. He was arrested after County Organized Drug Enforcement agents served a search warrant Thursday at a home on Oden Street.
As officers were preparing to enter the house, they saw Smith driving away. Following a traffic stop, he was taken into custody based upon an outstanding fine in Longview for public intoxication. Once inside the house, the officers found over four grams of crack cocaine, a quantity of marijuana drug paraphernalia, ammunition, three handguns and two assault rifles. The police say three of the guns were stolen. The discovery led to the additional charges.
