Probe of the Death of an East Texas State Jail Inmate

HENDERSON – An investigation is underway into the death of an inmate at the Bradshaw State Jail in Henderson. Foul play is not suspected in the death of Alfredo McCowan, 43. He was found unresponsive during a security check shortly after 11:45 Wednesday morning. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
