Man Busted for Drugs Following Traffic Stop

LONGVIEW – A Hawkins man is facing additional charges following a traffic stop. Shane Edward Dispennett, 38, was stopped around 12:30 Thursday morning at the intersection of State Highway 42 and Harrison Road on a warrant for failure to maintain financial responsibility. As he was booked into the Gregg County Jail it was found that he was hiding a zippered pouch in his shorts. In the pouch was oxycodone hydrochloride, alprazolam, buprenorphine, carisoprodol and marijuana. Dispennett has been charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1, possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 3, two counts of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of marijuana and failure to maintain financial responsibility. His bonds total $11,500.
