drinking waterLONGVIEW – Longview residents may see a higher or a lower water bill this month. It is because of a one-time adjustment. The adjustment comes as the City of Longview completes a utility billing cycle realignment project. the meter reading routes were realigned geographically from March through May to increase efficiency. As customers were shifted from one cycle to another, some customers had shorter or longer than normal billing periods. To properly prorate water, sewer, and garbage rates during those irregular periods, the September bills will reflect this one time adjustment. About half of the city’s total customers will see an adjustment.

According to a news release from the city, the amount of the adjustment varies greatly depending on the size of the customers meter connect, the level of service, and the length of the billing period during the conversion. Most residential customers could see a credit or charge ranging from $6 up to one month’s base rate.
