Tyler and Longview ISDs Meet State Standards

TISD Admin Sign1TYLER – the 2016 State Accountability System Ratings for school districts and charter schools across the have been released. Tyler ISD is very pleased with the results. As a district, Tyler ISD received a Met Standard rating. at the campus level, 15 of 17 elementary schools, five of six middle schools and both high schools received a Met Standard rating. Many earned distinctions for high levels of achievement. Since 2014, Tyler ISD has gone from having 11campuses rated as improvement required to only three this year. Those three schools are Dogan Middle School, Griffin Elementary and Jones Elementary MST Academy.

School Superintendent Dr. Marty Crawford said in a news release, ” “We are thrilled that seven of our campuses who received an Improvement Required rating last year have now received the Met Standard rating. Furthermore, many of these campuses are expected to earn distinctions. This success is certainly a reflection of the commitment and dedication of administrators, teachers, staff and students to setting and achieving high goals.”

The Longview Independent School District also received a Met Standard rating. And two of the district’s 14 schools received a Met Alternative Standard rating. Last year, Ware Elementary School received an Improvement Required rating. This year it met state standards.
