Three Arrested for Aggravated Assault, Other Charges

TYLER — Three people have been taken into custody in a Tyler case of assault and burglary. Tyler Police say they responded around 10:35 Friday night to a location on West Bow Street near Bois D’Arc on a report of a burglary in progress. The caller said someone had broken into her house and was trying to take her brother. Responding officers found three people still on scene in a truck. The three were detained and an investigation was conducted.

The victims reported that the suspects entered the house and pointed guns at the family while threatening to kill them. One individual was assaulted inside the house and the suspects allegedly tried to drag him out of the house. One of the suspects reportedly threw a gun into the bushes when he saw the police were coming to the scene. Officers say they later found that handgun and also located another pistol in the truck. The suspects were identified as 19-year-old Tyler residents Mario Villegas and Alexis Juarez, along with a juvenile suspect. All three were arrested for aggravated assault, burglary of a habitation, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
