LONGVIEW — A 28-year-old Chicago man was arrested Thursday after reportedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at a Longview apartment and then posting sexually-explicit videos of the teen on Facebook. According to KETK and the Longview News-Journal, William James Woodall has been charged with sexual assault of a child. He has been booked into the Gregg County Jail on $75,000 bond. Woodall reportedly met the girl using the alias “Wil James” on the social media site Tagged last year.
Although the girl had posted that she was 24 years old, she told police she admitted her real age at the time, 16 years old, to Woodall when they met in person in the summer of 2015. After they met, the girl told police she and Woodall had sex — a crime, since 16-year-olds cannot legally consent to any sexual activity. The teen also told police that Woodall had filmed some of the sex on an electronic tablet — and that she believed he had later deleted the recordings. The teen told officials she and Woodall were involved in a romantic relationship for about a year, until she decided to break it off. It was then, the girl reported, that Woodall vowed to seek revenge after she refused to return his calls.
