Cherokee County Manhunt Continues

CHEROKEE COUNTY — The search for a man who was involved in an altercation with a police officer in Cuney is still ongoing at last report, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. According to KETK, officials say the manhunt began Tuesday after multiple deputies responded to the scene of a residence off Highway 175 in Cuney. James Robert “Robbie” Clary, 44, is accused of assaulting his girlfriend Monday night and a protective order had been issued against him.
Law enforcement officials were serving four warrants on him for being at the location illegally when he ran from authorities. He’s wanted for aggravated sexual assault, unlawful restraint, endangering a child and assault. Clary is known to travel throughout Cherokee County, specifically in the areas of Cuney, Jacksonville and Mt. Selman. He is possibly driving a 1999 Harley Davidson Motorcycle with license plate 4WF 316. A local law enforcement official says the man was involved in a scuffle with an officer, but no other details were available.
