Woman Facing Animal Cruelty Charges after 48 Dogs Removed from HomeMABANK — Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse, a team of deputies, and the Dallas SPCA took 48 malnourished, sick, and infected small dogs from a Mabank home Saturday morning, according to authorities. KETK reports the dogs’ owner, Betty Kennedy, 73, of Mabank, faces animal cruelty charges. Officials say the chihuahuas, yorkies, shihtzu, and schnauzer mix dogs — males, females, puppies and adults — were living in their own wastes, were covered with fleas, suffered from mange, had internal parasites, and lacked proper water. They were taken to facilities in Dallas. The warrant to search the premises was signed by Henderson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 5 Milton Adams.
