Sex Offender Compliance Check in Rusk County

HENDERSON — A contingent of local, state and federal law officers, including Tyler police and Smith County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a “knock and talk” sex offender compliance check in Rusk County. The goal was to verify the offenders were complying with the law. It requires adult and juvenile sex offenders to register with the local law enforcement agency in the city or county where they reside. Of the 125 offenders checked, 10 were found to be non-compliant.
