Gladewater Man Arrested Following a Vehicle/Foot Chase

GREGG COUNTY — A Gladewater man has been arrested after leading police on a chase. According to KETK, just before midnight Friday, officers were patrolling Tenery Street when Jonathan Barnes, 24, was stopped for a traffic violation. Barnes, who had an outstanding warrant out of Gregg County for Evading Arrest/Detention, failed to stop and led police on a brief pursuit. He failed to stop at stop signs in the process. When Barnes finally stopped, he got out of the vehicle and ran. Police found him hiding in a storage shed on Wood Street. Barnes was arrested for Evading Arrest/Detention with Previous Convictions and the outstanding warrant out of Gregg County Sheriff’s Office. He was booked into the Gregg County Jail on Saturday.
