Tyler’s Unemployment Rate Continues to Fall

AUSTIN – Unemployment in Tyler continues to run below the state and national figures. The Texas Workforce commission reports Tyler’s unemployment rate in February was 4.1%. That is down from 4.3% in January. The number of persons employed in Tyler was 99,300 with a workforce of 103,600. Longview’s figures continue to be above the state and national numbers. Longview’s unemployment in February was 5.2%, down from 5.3% in January. Texas’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 4.4% in February, down from 4.5% in January, and remained below the national average of 4.9%.
