WHITEHOUSE – Two new officials will be taking duties in Whitehouse as city manager and school superintendent. Aaron Smith will assume duties as Whitehouse City manager between April 30th and May 2nd. A graduate from Tyler’s Robert E. Lee High School, Smith brings managerial experience from Ogallala, Nebraska and Tulia, Texas. He will be succeeding Kevin Huckabee who was embroiled in controversy last year.

And school trustees in Whitehouse officially named Dr. Christopher Moran as the new school Superintendent. He had earlier been named the lone finalist for the position. He’ll be leaving his job as the Brownsboro school superintendent and starting his new job in Whitehouse on April 18th. When named the lone finalist for the post Moran said while looking forward to being back in Whitehouse, he admitted to be making the move with mixed emotions. He said “the Brownsboro school district has been a fantastic place to live. And as I told the staff here, we aren’t eager to leave them, but we are certainly excited about the opportunity of Whitehouse.†And Moran added, “the folks in Brownsboro and Chandler, and this whole surrounding area, have been extremely kind and loving to our family and we will miss them.”
