Woman Dies in Accidental Shooting

ELKHART – An Anderson County woman has died in a Tyler hospital following an accidental shooting. It happened around 4:30 Sunday afternoon on County Road 1370. Carmen Danielle Morris, 23, of Elkhart, was first taken to Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was then flown to Tyler’s Mother Francis Hospital where she later died. Investigators say, the woman’s husband was cleaning weapons when a ten year old picked up a rifle, which discharged. The bullet went through a closed door and hit the woman in the head.
