TYLER – The Department of Public Safety is trying to locate a car responsible for a Smith County wreck. It happened around 7:30 Thursday morning on U.S. Highway 64 West, about ½ a mile west of County Road 413. They are looking for a silver, possibly four-door, passenger car that had been eastbound at a high rate of speed. The car passed several motorists when it forced a westbound vehicle to take evasive action in an effort to avoid a head-on collision. That motorist lost control of his vehicle and and ended up in the eastbound lane where it hit a Toyota Camry and was then hit by a eastbound cargo van. Four persons were injured in the wreck.
