One Dead in Gregg County Fire

GREGG COUNTY (Staff/AP) — One fatality and at least two injuries, one with serious burns, have been reported after fire engulfed a group of mobile homes near I-20 and FM 2087 in Gregg County. According to KETK, firefighters from Longview and Kilgore along with the Elderville-Lakeport Volunteer Fire Department were on the scene fighting the blaze, which was reported about 11:00 Wednesday night. The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed. The victim with serious burn injuries was hospitalized in Dallas. A neighbor said about four or five mobile homes were put together to create one home, which had also caught fire about two weeks earlier. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
