Early Voting Begins Today; Smith County Locations Listed

TYLER – Early voting in the state’s primary electionis underway. Voters will be casting votes for a presidential candidate to various ballot propositions and referendums. Besides the Smith County Elections Office on East Ferguson Street, you can vote early at the Lindale Public Library, the Heritage Building on Bellwood Road, the Noonday Community Center and at the Whitehouse Municipal Court. Early voting will run through February 26th and will even be open this coming Saturday and Sunday.
With the Texas Voter I.D. law in effect, before being given a ballot you must show an approved form of identification. Voters will need to either show one of the following forms of identification: a state-issued driver’s license, state-issued identification card, a current U.S. passport, DPS- issued CHLs, Military IDs, a U.S. citizenship certificate that has a photo or an Election Identification Certificate.
