Several Area Counties Named in Presidential Disaster Declaration

AUSTIN – Late last month Governor Gregg Abbott requested a Presidential Disaster Declaration for 25 Texas counties. This was because of the severe weather damage sustained at the end of December. Tuesday morning, the president granted the request for public assistance. Included on the list are Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Titus and Van Zandt Counties. The governor’s request for individual assistance for Van Zandt County is still pending.
