Two Killed in Wreck Near Lufkin

LUFKIN — Two persons have been killed and one injured in a two vehicle accident in Angelina County. The victims are identified by the Department of Public Safety as Jonathan Edward McBride, 22, of Jasper and Rhonda Taylor Brown, 49, of Lufkin. A passenger in Brown’s vehicle, Blake Brown, 13, was taken to a Lufkin hospital for treatment. The DPS says McBride was heading north on Highway 69 when his pickup crossed over to the south bound lanes and hit Brown’s SUV. The accident occurred just before 8:00 Tuesday morning on Highway 69, just south of Spring Lake Drive.
