Nacogdoches ISD’s Stance On Open Carry

NACOGDOCHES — No guns will be permitted in Nacogdoches school buildings. That’s the word from the school district’s police chief, Doug Ploch. The chief issued a statement yesterday in connection with the state’s open carry law. He said, not only will guns not be allowed in the school’s buildings, but they will also not be allowed at sporting events. Chief Ploch said school districts are not required to post gun prohibited signs, but the signs will be posted at all Nacogdoches schools as well as stadium entrances.
