OVERTON — Overton Independent School District went into lockdown briefly Wednesday morning after an altercation between two students, according to information from the district. In a news release, Superintendent Stephen DuBose says, “The campus principals were handling a routine altercation between two students when one of the students left campus. The principals instituted a lockdown until the situation could be assessed appropriately. After consultation with the Overton Police Department, the lockdown was lifted and school resumed as normal.”
