One Arrested at Motel on Gun and Drug Charges

LONGVIEW — A 41-year-old Winona resident has been arrested in Longview on felony gun and drug charges in a three-pronged raid just before 6:30 Thursday night. Officials say Longview police joined the Gregg County Organized Drug Enforcement Unit, the Longview SWAT team, and the Department of Public Safety Special Response Team in the raid. They served two warrants on two rooms at the American Dream Inn motel on East Marshall Avenue and another on a Harrell Street residence. During the searches, officers say they recovered a large quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, and assorted pills with a street value of over $6700. Police also reportedly located 3 handguns, 1 shotgun, and numerous rounds of what appear to be armor piercing ammunition.
Charshon Tarez Rollins was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, probation violation for assault family violence, and a Smith County warrant for assault family violence. Authorities report Rollins was transported to the Gregg County Jail without incident.
