AUSTIN – State Representative Dan Flynn, R-Van, filed for re-election Wednesday at the Republican Party of Texas Headquarters in Austin. Flynn is chairman of the House Committee on Pensions. According to a news release, he says he’s pleased that legislators in this year’s session “prioritized public education, and fought to protect innocent life and religious freedom.” He also points to water issues, transportation, and a balanced budget as key items addressed in the session. Flynn says ongoing challenges include funding of public education and healthcare, oil and gas price declines, and immigration issues. Flynn has no announced opposition thus far.
