High Speed Chase Ends with One Arrest

WOOD COUNTY — A high speed chase through East Texas ended in Mineola early Monday morning. According to the Smith County Sheriff’s Department, the chase started Sunday night around 11:30 in Tyler when a Sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop. KETK reported, Gregory Tennyson, 40, Tyler, had an outstanding assault warrant and refused to stop. He reportedly led the deputy on a chase into Lindale where police spiked his tires. The chase continued into Mineola where troopers with the Department of Public Safety shot out one of his tires to end the chase. Tennyson rammed four law enforcement vehicles before he was arrested around 1:00 Monday morning. No injuries were reported. Tennyson was booked into the Smith County Jail on several charges, including evading arrest and aggravated assault of a police officer.
