Beckville Player Recovering from Injury

BECKVILLE — Beckville High School football player Ben Travis is recovering at Parkland Hospital in Dallas after being injured during a game against Shelbyville Friday night. According to KETK, family members say Travis was injured during a play but was able to walk to the sidelines. There he began complaining about being in pain. He was then taken by ambulance to a Longview-area hospital. Family members say doctors discovered his brain was bleeding. Travis was taken to Parkland just after midnight Saturday. He reportedly has suffered short-term memory loss but is expected to be okay. By Sunday morning, Travis was said to be awake and alert, and he’s expected to be able to leave the hospital in the next few days.
