Let The Texas Rose Festival Begin

TYLER — The countdown to the 2015 Texas Rose Festival is officially underway following Friday evening’s kickoff celebration at Tyler’s Willow Brook Country Club. Rose Queen Madeline Wynne says family tradition and the event’s economic impact make it special for her. Madeline told KTBB she’s just the latest in a long line of family members to take part in the festival and that she’s excited to be doing her part. She also pointed out that Tyler’s roses and the festival brought in about $2.3 million to the local economy in 2014. And Madeline took time to thank the festival’s numerous volunteers for their “amazing work” each year. The Rose Festival runs October 15-18.
