Man Indicted on Grave Theft Charges

QUITMAN — A Mineola man has been indicted in Wood County on twelve counts of theft of property from a grave. KETK reports Chad Hennessey is accused of stealing brass headstone markers — many from deceased veterans — in mid-April. Authorities became aware of the thefts when they were tipped off that a man had been stealing brass from two cemeteries. Evidence eventually led to Hennessey, who was arrested on a parole warrant. Officials said 11 of the 12 markers belonged to veterans. The suspect’s bonds total $300,000.
