TYLER — If you drive Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler, keep your eyes peeled. KETK reports There may be a new school zone coming for Three Lakes Middle School. The school is new and scheduled to open August 24 for it’s first day of classes. Along with its grand opening are new traffic patterns. The plan for reduced school zone speeds includes Old Jacksonville Highway, Three Lakes Parkway, and Highlands Lane. Tyler Traffic Engineer Peter Eng says, “Signs and the flashers on Old Jacksonville Highway’ll be overhead. Because it’s a multi-lane highway, we want to make sure everybody on the inside lane also will see the overhead warning flashers.” This is all pending city council approval.
