Man Jailed Following High Speed Chase

KILGORE — One person is in custody following an overnight car chase through Rusk County. The Kilgore Police Department assisted DPS Troopers in a pursuit late Monday night on U.S. Highway 259, south of Kilgore. The truck involved was said to be traveling at a high rate of speed in the wrong lane. According to KETK, Kilgore officers successfully deployed a spike strip to stop the truck, which came to a halt. The driver surrendered to officers after brief negotiations. The identity of the driver has not been released.
