WHITEHOUSE — A special session of the city council is held in Whitehouse Monday night. Mayor Charles Parker said five city employees, including the city manager and police chief, were placed on paid leave last Friday pending the outcome of an investigation. The majority of the meeting was held in executive session, according to KETK. Parker spoke to the public saying City Manager, Kevin Huckabee, placed himself on administrative leave last week. After coming back from executive session, the council voted to continue his administrative leave pending a city investigation.
Mayor Parker also said there was a possible criminal investigation pending involving a Whitehouse police officer in which the city would not interfere with. Reserve Officer Dan Finkelstein will be acting as interim Chief of Police while Stefani Wright will be acting as interim City Manager. Officer Finkelstein will also employ the help of a third party entity to see if any city policies were broken. There was no public comment section during last night’s city council meeting. As of now, the five city officials still remain on administrative leave.
