Woman Arrested for Shovel Attack

LONGVIEW — A Palestine woman has been arrested in Longview on a charge of aggravated assault/family violence. Bond for Joy Laquinneius Nelson, 22, was set at $5,000. She’s accused of hitting a man in the face with a shovel. She told a sheriff’s deputy, who is said to have witnessed the incident, that she was defending herself.
