Rusk County Assistant D.A. Dies

HENDERSON — Funeral arrangements are pending today for First Assistant Rusk County District Attorney Richard Kennedy. The husband of Smith County’s 114th Judicial Court Judge Christi Kennedy died unexpectedly early yesterday morning. Kennedy, who was 55, began his career in Tyler under District Attorney Jack Skeen, who is now a district court judge. He returned to prosecution in 2008 after he was appointed by Rusk County D.A. Micheal Jimerson as the only First Assistant District Attorney in the county.
