City of Tyler Honored for Fair Plaza Parking Garage

TYLER — The Tyler City Council Wednesday accepted an Award of Excellence in the field of New Parking Structures for the Fair Plaza Parking Garage from the Texas Parking and Transportation Association (TPTA). The TPTA is a statewide association for individuals involved in parking-related businesses for municipalities and other government bodies, according to a city news release. Each year, the organization accepts submissions for various parking structures and programs statewide.

The TPTA Board of Directors partnered with the Pennsylvania Board of Directors to review this year’s submissions. Judges are parking professionals in the fields of architecture, engineering, construction, and operation. Submissions were judged based upon outstanding conception, originality, application in design, operation, management, and construction, according to the release.
