Voters Decide Local Elections
EAST TEXAS — East Texans went to the polls Saturday in city council and school board races. Some voters even decided school bond issues. Elections on the ballot included those in Tyler, Chapel Hill, Bullard, Hideaway, Lindale, and Winona. Only one contested city council race was on the ballot in Tyler.

With 15 of 15 precincts reporting in complete but unofficial returns:

There was only one Tyler school board race and the incumbent lost.

There were two school bond issues in Smith County. One passed.
In Bullard, voters have approved a $40,000,000 school bond issue.

Chapel Hill’s $45,000,000 Bond proposal failed.

Longview gets a new mayor and three new members to the city council. In complete but unofficial returns in the Longview races:
