LONGVIEW — A Tyler man who was released from jail earlier this month, then rearrested Wednesday morning, has bonded out of jail. Christian Earl Sibley met a $250,000 bond around 6:00 Wednesday evening and was released from the Gregg County Jail. According to KETK, judicial records show Sibley, 21, was arrested Wednesday for the murder of Jerrad Hunt, 22. On February 3, police responded to a reported shooting around 10:28 a.m. at an Exxon gas station in the 3000 block of Estes Parkway in Longview.
Police said Hunt was hospitalized and died February 23. Sibley was originally arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon but posted bail March 2. The aggravated assault complaint includes Sibley’s statement to Longview police February 3. He claimed Hunt dropped the gun in his lap during a scuffle. Then, during a struggle over the firearm, it went off, Sibley said.
