MARSHALL — The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two unrelated sexual assault incidents that allegedly occurred over the weekend. That’s according to KETK and the Marshall News-Messenger. Last Friday, deputies arrested 26-year-old Cody Tinsley, of 3733 St. James Road, for aggravated sexual assault of a child after a woman reported that he had been in her residence on James Marshall Road, allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old. “The reports are being completed and the investigation in ongoing,” Lieutenant Jay Webb with the sheriff’s office said Monday, noting Tinsley was in the Harrison County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
The sheriff’s office also arrested 32-year-old Dexter Shundel Monroe, of 300 Pine Valley Subdivision, Harleton, last Saturday for the alleged sexual assault of his 18-year-old stepdaughter. “Monroe has been arrested on a complaint filed by his step-daughter,” Webb said. “She alleges he hit her and then sexually assaulted her at their residence. She found a trooper working an accident not far from the residence and reported the incident to him, and he then contacted the dispatch for an ambulance and deputies.”
Webb said the stepdaughter was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center – Longview for her injuries and the alleged sexual assault. “Monroe was arrested at their residence on Pine Valley for public intoxication and sexual assault,” Webb said. Monroe was additionally arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member. “His bond is $53,500,” Webb said.
