Chenevert Named St. Gregory Principal

Becky ChenevertTYLER — Longtime educator Becky Chenevert has been named the new principal of St. Gregory Cathedral School in Tyler, Rev. Hank Lanik, rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception has announced. She will begin her new position for the 2015-16 academic year this June. According to materials from the cathedral and the Diocese of Tyler, Chenevert comes to St. Gregory with 29 years of experience in elementary education and has served the last 24 as a principal. She is currently the principal of the Wise Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School in Chapel Hill ISD.

“I am overwhelmed with joy and so excited at this new opportunity and challenge,” said Chenevert. “After many years in educational administration, I can’t think of a better place to serve than St. Gregory. It will be a special privilege and blessing work with the outstanding faculty at St. Gregory to provide our students with academic excellence, Christian formation and a disciplined environment.” Chenevert replaces Kathy Harry, who is retiring at the end of this school year after 24 years as principal of St. Gregory.
