Man Killed in Smith County Wreck Identified

TYLER – A multiple vehicle accident in Smith County has left one person dead. The wreck happened Monday night at the intersection of State Highway 31 East and County Road 223. The Department of Public Safety said the deceased has been identified as Jarrett Deon Rider, 31, Tyler. Officials said Rider was stopped to pull into his drive-way when he was rear-ended. Rider’s vehicle was pushed into oncoming traffic, where he was struck head-on. Four other people were taken to a Tyler hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
