TYLER — A Tyler man arrested in connection with the murder of a young mother at Tyler’s P.T. Cole Park has been sentenced to 45 years in prison in exchange for a guilty plea. According to KETK, judicial records show Elisha “E.J.” Williams, 20, pleaded guilty to murder in the July 30, 2013, shooting death of Tyler resident Briana Raquel Young. Investigators determined Young brought her three-year-old son to the park and was caught in crossfire when gunshots erupted. Young’s child was not harmed from gunfire. It is believed that the shooting was a result of gang activity. Others who were arrested in connection with the crime were Ke’Avier Jarrod Wilson-Hurd, Dennis Bendy, and Rakheem Goldstein. Bendy received a sentence of life in prison, Wilson-Hurd was “no billed,” and Goldstein’s trial is expected to begin March 16.
