Amega West Services Plant Due to Close This Spring

TYLER — The Amega West Services plant on Smith County Road 313 East is expected to close this spring. In a letter sent to employees, President Reddy Godula stated the closing will most likely take place between April 21 and May 5. KETK reports the closing is expected to be permanent. About 75 employees are believed to be affected, according to a source. The Houston-based business focuses on manufacturing and rentals in downhole tools. At the Smith County facility, the company specializes in high-tech sideways drilling pipe. The company declined to comment at this time.
