Hit and Run Death in Nacogdoches

NACOGDOCHES – A woman has died at a Nacogdoches hospital after being struck by a hit and run driver. Killed early last night was Matilda Cruz, 54, of Nacogdoches. KETK reports she was walking with her husband in the 200 block of North Sanders Street when she was hit. The truck’s driver fled the scene. Justin Laird, 21, was later arrested and charged with failure to stop and render aid with a fatality.
