Person of Interest in Kilgore Shooting Death Arrested in Shreveport

KILGORE — A man considered a person of interest in the shooting death of a woman has been captured in Shreveport on a parole violation charge. KETK reports the Kilgore Police Department had been looking for Marcus Demois Whitaker, 35, of Kilgore, to question him about the death of Franciosa Lakeefe Jackson, 36, of Kilgore. Jackson was killed on December 28. Whitaker was taken into custody at a home in Shreveport. Kilgore detectives traveled to Shreveport and met with Whitaker and other possible witnesses. Whitaker is currently being held in the Caddo Parrish Jail on a Texas warrant for parole violation. Authorities are working on extraditing Whitaker back to Gregg County.
