According to KETK, the Kilgore Police Department Criminal Investigation Unit was notified early Wednesday morning that Christina Rae Davison had been arrested at around 1:00 a.m. in Lexington. The arrest stemmed from an outstanding Harrison County, Texas, warrant along with local charges in Lexington. Lexington officials booked her into jail on a felony warrant, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives confirmed Davison’s identity via a photograph and briefly spoke with her by telephone. The family has been notified of her well-being and location. According to Lexington police, officers pulled over a vehicle at a gas station and then identified Davison after running the automobile’s license plate in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). Davison appears to have been living in Kentucky since her disappearance in May of 2014, according to officials. Authorities said she would be extradited by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office back to Texas at an unknown date. A spokeswoman for the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said Davison was arraigned Wednesday and waived her extradition.

Circumstances surrounding her disappearance led to an extensive investigation and a belief foul play may have been involved. During the course of the investigation, detectives received and followed numerous leads, many of whih suggested Davison was deceased and may have been murdered. Davison’s ex-husband, Craig Deallen Davison, 49, had been considered a person of interest during her disappearance and was arrested multiple times for violent offenses.

Officials say investigators from both the Kilgore Police Department and Harrison County Sheriff’s Office interviewed multiple witnesses and persons of interest during the course of the investigation. According to authorities, preliminary information indicates Davison may have planned her own disappearance — which made national news and was featured on NBC’s “Dateline: Missing in America.”
