joann_fleming_ketk_picAUSTIN – Flint resident JoAnn Fleming has been selected to chair Lt. Governor Dan Patrick’s newly-created Grassroots Advisory Board. In 2011, then-Senator Patrick created the Tea Party Caucus of the Texas Legislature and its citizen advisory committee. The caucus met regularly with members of the advisory committee to discuss public policy. Today, Patrick continues his practice of coordinating with grassroots leaders, according to a news release from his office.

“I am honored to be selected to serve on the Lt. Governor’s Grassroots Advisory Board,” said Fleming, Executive Director of Smith County-based Grassroots America – We the People. “Governor Patrick has a reputation for valuing folks outside the capitol complex who ask tough questions and bring common sense solutions to the table. Our primary focus will be on border security, education reform, and tax relief legislation – serious issues important to a strong Texas.”
