Capital Murder Probe Follows Discovery of Body in Burned Home

HENDERSON — A capital murder investigation is underway after a person was found dead Friday following a fire in a Rusk County home. According to KETK, the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office says emergency crews found the body after being sent to the home on CR 291 in the northern portion of the county. The victim has been identified as 56-year-old John Cecil Clements of Kilgore. Officials say evidence collected at the scene and during the forensic examination of Clements supports their homicide ruling. They say investigators have been conducting interviews with persons of interest in the case. The victim was taken to Southeastern Institute of Forensic Science in Tyler for examination.
