Man Accused of Shooting Wife in Face

sigmundturnergreggcoLONGVIEW — Deputies arrested a Longview man for allegedly shooting his wife in the face. According to KETK, Lt. Kirk Haddix said Gregg County deputies were dispatched to a home in the 500 block of Peatown Church Road at around 9:30 Sunday night on a domestic violence call. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the wife of Sigmund Turner, Sr. with a gunshot wound to her left cheek. Haddix stated the bullet had exited out the back of her neck. The victim was rushed to a Longview hopsital and underwent surgery. She is expected to survive. Turner was arrested for allegedly shooting his wife once with a revolver and was charged with aggravated assault family violence with a deadly weapon. He remains in jail on $25,000 bond.
