Fatal Smith County Accident

SMITH COUNTY – One person has been killed and one injured in a two vehicle accident on a service road off of Interstate Highway 20. Killed was Jeffrey Todd Childress, 45, of Henderson. Injured was Regina Harris, 47, of Winona. The accident happened shortly after 6:45 Wednesday morning just east of U.S. Highway 271. The Department of Public Safety report says Harris did not heed a yield sign and hit Childress’ vehicle.
