Lindale Man Arrested for Murder in Connection with Hawkins Death

HAWKINS — A Lindale man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man found in Hawkins earlier this month. KETK reports Joel Goldsmith was booked into the Wood County Jail on December 1, the same day the body of John Cecil was discovered. He is currently being held on bonds totaling $254,500. He is charged with murder, assault causing bodily injury, and possession of marijuana. According to police, the body was discovered close to the Fred’s store, located near the intersection of Glazner Street and Farm Road 14. The Texas Rangers are investigating the case.
