Construction on Fourth Street between Hawkins Parkway and Loop 281

LONGVIEW — Starting last night, construction began on Fourth Street in Longview from Hawkins to Loop 281. For several days traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction for street maintenance, milling, and overlay work. Overlay work will continue on Fourth Street during the week of August 31 from Sunday night to Wednesday night. The contractor will be working from 7:00pm to 7:00am to help reduce traffic congestion, according to a city news release. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.
